24 of February: QUALITIES OF A GOOD TEACHER

In previous entries we have seen some of the features related to a good tutor and teacher, specially with one of the activities that we have developed (the Harry Potter one). In today’s class, we have deepened in this concept. Teachers, to be good, must have certain qualities related mainly with interpersonal and intrapersonal skills (to know about myself and, specially, to know about the others), and how to manage them in order to perform correctly. A good teacher must be competent.

As I mentioned in previous entries as well, I consider that even though anyone can teach to others, not everyone can be a teacher (and even less a tutor). Teachers must be competent, there are many qualities and characteristics that they should have. The knowledge that we acquire while preparing ourselves to be teachers is reachable by almost everyone, however, having and applying the necessary skills in different situations is something so difficult to teach, and that is why there are teachers that have a lot of knowledge that can’t act like teachers are all.
